Hi Adam! First of all, congrats on your work and for all ur success u are having inside and outside your country .
We really needed something fresh from Europe, without looking at the US.
(Hola Adam!, Antes de nada, felicidades por tu trabajo y por todo tu éxito que estas teniendo dentro y
de tu país. Necesitabamos realmente algo fresco en Europa sin tener que echarle el ojo a los States.)

We’ve been working on some questions for you, if you have time we would really appreciate if you answer.
(Hemos estado trabajando en unas preguntas para que cuando tuvieras un momento nos las respondieras)

First of all, what really means RAP for you? (Antes de nada, ¿Qué significa RAP para ti?)
For me rap and hip hop means a free form of expression. Things that I normally wouldn’t say in everyday life comes down on a piece of paper. You can say that the music is my ventilation, to get certain things out of this world or make them come alive through the music. So hip hop and rap really means a lot to me beside it being my profession and putting food on my table. Rap and hip hop has made it possible for 8 members of the independent record label RMH (which I’m signed to) to live and get income of what they love. For me to even get payed doing what I love is something that I never could have imagined.
(Para mi rap y hiphop significan una manera libre de expresión. Cosas que normalmente no diría en el día a día se escriben en un folio. Se podría decir que la música son mis alas, para conseguir cosas
fuera de este mundo o hacer que esas cosas cobren vida através de la música. Asi que hh & rap realmente significan mucho para mi aunque sea parte de mi profesión y lo que me da de comer. El Rap y el hiphop a hecho que 8 miembros de la discográfica independiente llamada RMH (de la que soy parte) puedan vivir y trabajar de los que gusta. Para mi aunque me paguen por hacer lo que amo, es algo que nunca
hubiera imaginado.)

Rap/hip hop influences? (¿Influencias?)
I grew up listening to what my bigger brother played on the stereo. He started listening to New York based acts like Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Mobb Deep, Notorious B.I.G. and Boot Camp Click. I didn’t really have a choice until I got old enough to develop my own style, even then I preferred the New York era of hip hop more than anything else. Of course I was listening to other hip hop acts as well like Outkast and Goodie Mob from the Atlanta area but in my early years Nas was my favorite rapper. As I grew older I got into more conscious music, acts like Blackstar, Reflection Eternal, Common and Dead Prez was spinning frequently in the stereo. My favorite album of all time is Dead Prez – Lets Get Free witch dropped in 2000, so since then Ive been in to more conscious type of music.
(Me crié escuchando lo que mi hermano mayor ponía en su radio. Él empezó a escuchar a movimientos de New York como Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Mobb Deep, Notorious B.I.G. y Boot Camp Click. Nunca tuve
la oportunidad hasta que crecí y maduré y desarrollé mi propio estilo, aun así prefería la era del hiphop de la zona de NY que cualquier otra cosa. Aun así escuchaba otros grupos como Outkast y Goodie Mob de
la área de Atlanta pero en mis primeros años NAS fue mi rapero favorito. A medida que fuí creciendo me centré en música más “consciente”, grupos como Blackstar, Reflection Eternal, Common y Dead Prez eran los que sonaba frecuentemente en mi estereo. Mi álbum preferido de todos los tiempos es el Dead Prez – Lest Get Free del año 2000, y desde entonces me centro en ese tipo de música, música más consciente.)

Your songs are all in English, is that because you want to expand? Thinking about The Amercian crowd? have you ever done rap in Swedish? (Tus canciones son todas en inglés ¿Es porque
quieres expandirte? Pensando en el público americano? ¿Has probado alguna vez con el rap en Sueco?)
I’ve done a couple verses in Swedish on very special occasions, to be honest I don’t like writing in Swedish since I feel limited by the language, I’ve been writing in English for so long that I’ve gotten used to that more so than writing in my native tongue. My very first text was in English mainly because that was the type of rap I listened to, back in 1994-95 there wasn’t a profound hip hop scene here in Sweden. Swedish rap got its breakthrough in 1997-99 and by then I was already deep into the English hip hop scene. I guess I had a dream of reaching outside this countries boarders so my choice was to do it in English, through the years we’ve encountered a lot of negativity because of that fact. Nobody really believed that you could do it in English until I had my breakthrough with the song “They Wanna Know” in April of 2007. It got spins everywhere you can imagine, radio, TV and in the clubs. It even landed me a gig at Sweden’s biggest festival “Hultsfredsfestivalen”. After that show people started to open up their eyes, they recognized that this was music not only on a local scale, but music that could be played all over the world. I never would have got that recognition if I wrote my music in Swedish.
(He hecho un par de versos en sueco en ocasiones muy especiales, para ser honesto no me gusta escribir en sueco desde que me siento limitado por la lengua. He estado escribiendo en Inglés por tanto tiempo ya que estoy acostumbrado mucho más que en mi idioma nativo. Mi primer texto fue en inglés porque ese era el rap al que escuchaba, atrás en los años 1994-95 no existía una profunda escena de hiphop en Suecia. El salto al rap de Suecia empieza en el 97-99 y para esa época ya yo estaba metido en el hiphop en inglés.. Creo que tuve un sueño en el que salía de las fronteras de estos países y por eso me decanté por el Inglés, y trás el tiempo nos hemos tropezado con mucha negatividad por estos motivos. Nadie realmente se creía que podrías hacerlo en inglés hasta que escucharon la rompedora canción “They wanna know” en Abril del 2007. Consguí aceptación y me reproducián en la radio, en la televisión y en los clubs. Incluso hizo que me invitaran como artista para el festival Sueco más grande llamado “Hiltsfredfestivalen”. Después de este concierto la gente empezó a abrir los ojos, aceptaron que esta música era algo más que a nivel local, sino que era música que podía ser escuchada en todo el mundo.
No tendría ese reconocimiento si escribiera en Sueco.)

With all the success you know you are having, are you thinking on a tour around Europe? (¿Con todo el éxito que estas teniendo, has pensado en algún tour en Europa?)
The success we had nation wide with “Its A Tensta Thing” has gained us international recognition, and were getting ready to release the album in Scandinavia. My Cool is getting rotation in countries like Norway, Finland and Denmark, before its been officially released. We also have shows booked in these countries. I’m hitting Norway this very weekend to hook up with the local acts and get the Scandinavian remix for “They Wanna Know” done.
(El éxito que hemos tenido a través del pais con “Its A Tensta Thing” nos ha proporcionado reconocimiento internacional, y estamos listos para publicar el álbum en Escandinavia. My Cool está pegando fuerte en países como Noruega, Finlandia y Dinamarca, antes de que fuese oficialmente publicado. Tenemos también conciertos en nuestra agenda para estos países. Me voy a Noruega este próximo fin de semana para quedar con un grupo local y sacar un Remix de la canción “They Wanna Know”.)

With which well known hip hop artist would you like to collaborate with? (¿Con que artista de hiphop conocido te gustaría colaborar?)
I have a couple of dream scenarios that I know would be crazy if they ever became reality. Would love to work with acts like Outkast, Deadprez, Common and Kanye West. I guess this list could be made a lot longer than this since I listen and get inspired buy a lot of different hip hop acts.
(Tengo un par de sueños de escenario que creo que serían la hostia si se hicieran realidad. Me gustaría trabajar con Outkast, Deadprez, Common y Kanye West. Creo que esta lista podría ser mucho más larga
que esta desde que escucho y cojo inspiración de muchas otras entidades de hiphop.)

What do you think of all these new fresh artists in the United States, like… U-N-I, The CoolKids, Kidz in the Hall etc.. ? (¿Que opinas sobre estos artistas frescos de los Estados Unidos como UNI, The Cool Kidz, Kidz in the Hall etc..i?)
I like these acts simply cause the dare to think out of the box, they push the level of both production and lyricism to new heights. Acts like these evolve hip hop as a music genre branching in to new areas of popular culture. I believe acts like Lupe Fiasco and Kanye West push the limits in similar ways, the only difference is that they’ve had their breakthrough. I think hip hop is evolving in that direction, a lot of up and coming acts that get massive airplay simply cause they don’t sound like anything else. More and more acts branch out from the original genre of music.
(Me gustan estos grupos por el simple hecho de que piensan fuera de la caja, empujan el nivel de la producción y de las letras a nuevas alturas. Entidades como estas llevan al hiphop como música a otras nuevas áreas culturales. Creo que gente como Lupe Fiasco y Kanye West están dándolo todo, y la única diferencia es que ellos ya han dado el gran paso. Creo que el hiphop está tirando por esta dirección, grupos y artistas que tienen un sonido especial y que no se parece a nada anteriormente escuchado. Creando un género de música original.)

Last one. Any new fresh CD or mixtape coming soon? ( Y por último, ¿Algo fresco?,¿ cd o mixtape en breves?)
Recently I’ve put together some new mixtape joints that are going o be released in Europe before we hit the stores with the official album “Its A Tensta Thing”. Other than that you can expect some new material from my label signee Eboi and the “Number One Record breaker In Scandinavia” Dj Rooftop. We are always keeping ourselves busy and recording new material for the people. Get it soon as it drops, Its A Tensta Thing.
